A First Fruits Offering to God

O Holy Father, Creator of all there is, sustainer of the worlds by the power of Your Word, and my Provider. As the Pesach season comes to an end, I am bringing you a First Fruits offering, my korban todah, a thanksgiving gift.

You have delivered me from so much, not the least is from the penalty of death. Today, as Your Son has risen from the dead and is forever seated at Your right hand, I bring my humble offerings.

I bring my pride, to be burnt whole, poured out on this altar of thanks. I bring my hope, a pleasing aroma that rises to You in great worship and praise. I bring my gifts and talents, which You have given me and will never take away. I bring you praise!

I am thankful for deliverance from the evil one; for life I share with others, my husband, my children and grandchildren, my generations and those of my extended family. I thank You for providing for us, for the roof that keeps us warm and dry, for the food that nourishes our bodies and enables us to do Your will.

I am grateful for each person you have brought into our lives. I bring you my hurts, my pain, and my fear, and declare that You are removing them from my body and soul and mind.

Today, I dedicate the first fruits of my labors to You. All I have is Yours, and I return a portion to You with gratitude for the abundance you give me.

You are my God.

I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart. —Psalm 40:8

Amen
